Derby is putting the finishing touches to the third and final bid document set to be presented to the England FIFA World CupTM 2018 Bid Team at Wembley Stadium on the 26th November 2009.
Derby's goal of bringing a carnival of football to the city in 2018 began way back in May when Derby's 2018 Bid Project Team, hosted an initial delegation from England's World Cup Bid Team, presenting an outline proposal before hosting another delegation in early September at the well publicised event starting at The Roundhouse on Derby's Pride Park and continuing across the City and the local area.
The document is created to provide answers to the FA's questions on why Derby is a suitable city to host World Cup games.
The campaign to bring World Cup games to Derby is being supported by both local government, private businesses and of course Derby County Football Club.
Up to 15 cities, containing up to 22 potential stadiums, have registered their interest to be host cities across the country so the competition is tough.
The bid document expands on the cities already comprehensive range of benefits and we're sure it will be enough to convince England's Bid Team that Derby is one of the right cities to host the FIFA World CupTM in 2018.
